New     GALAXY GRATUITY FUND EXTENDED

The management office is continuing to collect money for the Holiday Gratuity Fund for the employees. We ask that you please take the time to recognize all that our employees do to improve the quality of life. Please contribute, if you have not already done so.



New     RESERVED PARKING AVAILABLE

We have several reserved spaces available between Towers II and III on floors 16-15, 12-11, 10-9 and floors 5-9. Reserved parking is $140.00 per month. Call Linda Montoya at 201-453-2414 for details.



New     ATTENTION GALAXY BUS RIDERS

Bus tickets purchased this year have an expiration date of 12/31/2003. Please remember tickets stamped with this date will no longer be valid at year-end. We will start selling tickets with a 2004 expiration date on December 1st. The Transportation and Garage Security Committee, along with the GTCA Management Team thank you for your continued support of the bus program.



SPECIAL SALE ON AIR CONDITIONER CLEANING

Our Maintenance Department sent a notice to all owners offering a special contract price to have your HVAC units cleaned before the busy season starts. To take advantage of this special price reduction from $40.00 to $30.00, contact Elizabeth Petriello in the Maintenance Dept. at 453-2436 for more information.



New     PLAY AND LEARN CLASS - NEW SESSION STARTS DECEMBER 12TH

Michael Nathanson, former Gymboree teacher, brings his talent and experience to the Galaxy in his Play and Learn Class. The class includes age appropriate songs, physical activities and games for kids 3 months to 2 1/2 years. Check your cubbies for further details or contact Helen Wood via the Tower 3 concierge.



CHILDREN'S HOLIDAY PARTY

Galaxy Children! Come join us for a fun holiday party on December 14th at 4.30pm in the Spa Lounge. Enjoy arts & crafts, music and food and drink. The cost is $5 per child. Check your cubbies for more details.


GALAXY BOOK CLUB

The book for the December 17, 2003 is Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee.

The Book Club will host a special event on Sunday, January 21, 2004 when college teacher, book club member and author Jay Gertzman will give a talk on past and present censorship of books..

The group meets at 8:00 PM in meeting room #3 in the Spa. Contact Florence Friedman at 201-854-1268 with any questions.



THE GALAXY TOASTMASTERS: A PUBLIC SPEAKING CLUB

Tuesday, December 23rd at 7:45pm. Over thirty Galaxy residents attended the inaugural meeting on November 18. Come by and witness residents give their "Ice Breaker" speeches and participate in Table Topics (impromptu speeches). If you want to develop effective communication skills, think on your feet and lead others effectively, Galaxy Toastmasters might be the answer! Meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. GALAXY CHESS CLUB

The Galaxy Chess Club is back and stronger than ever! The Chess Club meets on the 3rd Tuesdays of the month at 7:45pm. The next meeting is on Tuesday the 16th of December at Spa meeting room #2. FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIES

The movie for Friday, December 12 is The Dancer Upstairs starring Javier Bardem. The movie for December 19 is Down with Love starring Renee Zellwegger. Movies start at 8:15 PM unless otherwise indicated.



A GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA

Holiday Gift Certificates are now available for massage at the Galaxy Spa by Massage Therapist Rich Santangelo. It is a full body relaxation therapeutic Swedish/Deep Tissue massage lasting one hour. New     PHOTOELECTRIC LIGHT SENSORS IN LAUNDRY ROOMS

In an effort to conserve electricity, we have installed photoelectric light sensors in the laundry rooms. We are testing the sensors and working out the kinks. Lights will go on automatically as soon as you walk into the room. Please do not touch the sensors, as that will alter the settings. The lights will remain on as long as they sense motion in the room.



New     ELISABETH MORROW SCHOOL RECEPTION

Elisabeth Morrow School in Englewood has offered to come to the Galaxy for a reception to explain about the school and answer any questions. The school spans Nursery (3 yrs) to 8th grade. We would like to ascertain how many families might be interested in attending a reception. Please leave a note for Helen Wood with the Tower 3 concierge or e-mail helenandiain@msn.com if you are interested.



New     LOCKBOX UPDATE

Please remember to include your remittance stub. The information shown on the encoding of your statement contains vital information the bank needs to process your payment. Failure to include this remittance stub will result in delayed processing of your payment and may incur late fees. Once again, thank you for your cooperation in getting this system together. PET OWNERS:

Please curb your pets. Do not allow them to do their business on Galaxy property, except in the designated dog parks. Our security staff has been instructed to report violators to the management office for further action.

New     PACKAGE DELIVERIES

Our lobbies have limited storage space for packages that are received for residents. Please pick up your packages promptly when notified. If you know that you will be away and are expecting a package, please leave a "Permission to Enter" and our staff, accompanied by Security will deliver your package and place it inside your apartment door. Effective immediately, large packages will no longer be left in the lobbies but will be transferred to a safe holding location.
