As discussed at the Informational Meeting on Thursday, June 26th you can contact US Mortgage at http://www.usmtg.com/ which will be available live on July 1, 2003. You can also contact them through their Galaxy hotline, toll free, at 1-866-472-4069. This toll free number will also become available July 1, 2003.


G-FLAG GAY PRIDE BAR-B-QUE!

JULY 4TH PICNIC AT THE OUTDOOR POOL

There will be a picnic at the outdoor pool from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM on July 4, 2003. The cost will be $12 for adults, $6 for children aged 5 to 10, and children under 5 are free. Check you cubbies for more detailed information. Space is limited so you need to sign up at the Spa.


THE FRONTDESK.NET IS AVAILABLE

If you have not as yet initiated your personal profile, you can e-mail your first and last name, the address of your building and your apartment number at password@thefrontdesk.net. Upon receipt, they will forward a temporary User ID and Password to you. Once you log on you can change your User ID and Password. If you have any questions or if you have trouble navigating through the program, e-mail them at info@thefrontdesk.net.


New     BERM WORK CONTINUES!!!

The new waterproofing membrane will be installed in the next several weeks, and then tested repeatedly to ensure watertightness. The manufacturer's representative has been on site many times to see that the job is done to manufacturer's specifications. Once the waterproofing is complete, the berm will be professionally landscaped.


LOST AND FOUND ITEMS IN THE SPA

We are starting to accumulate a lot of lost items in the Spa. So far we have a rain coat, a leather skirt, a blue blazer with gold trim, and assorted towels, goggles and bathing caps. Please contact the Spa to reclaim your lost items.


PROPER GARBAGE DISPOSAL

Call your concierge for a personal pick up if you have large items!!! Residents with extra large pieces of garbage that do not fit in the compactor rooms or chutes should contact the concierge for a pick up at your apartment. Out of respect for your neighbors, please do not leave large boxes and other garbage at the compactor room doors.


New     NEW PROCEDURE FOR APARTMENT ALTERATIONS

If you plan to renovate or alter your apartment in any way, you must have approval from Management. For approval, you will need to submit a completed Alteration Agreement. The Alteration Agreement sets forth rules and regulations that must be followed. These rules were carefully written in order to protect the physical plant and the residents of the Galaxy Towers Condominium Association. Copies of the Alteration Agreement can be found initially in the cubbies, and can also be obtained by contacting the Maintenance Department at 201-453-2436.


PIGEON CONTROL

We have gained control of our prior pigeon problem! If, however, you are still seeing an occasional pigeon on your balcony, please contact the main office at 201 453-2400 so you can be put on the list for treatment. "The Bird Doctor" comes to the Galaxy every other Friday afternoon. If you will not be home, please provide a Permission to Enter slip along with your keys so that we can enter your apartment and treat your balcony.


New     AUTOMOBILE SIZE REGULATIONS FOR THE GARAGE

The Board has approved new rules for the size of automobiles permitted in the garage. So, before you purchase that new SUV this weekend, please contact the management office to find our new height and length restrictions for the garage. A formal notice will be distributed shortly.


FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIES

The movie for June 26, 2003 will be The Road to Perdition starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman.

The movie for July 3, 2003 will be White Oleander starring Michelle Pfeiffer. Movies start at 8:15 PM unless otherwise indicated.


CPR CLASSES AT THE SPA

The Galaxy will be offering a community CPR class in the Spa on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Come and learn adult, child and infant CPR. Space is limited so sign up at the Spa now!


TOWN OF GUTTENBERG - SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAM

The Town of Guttenberg is offering a Summer Recreation Program for Guttenberg residents beginning June 24th and ending August 8th. The program consists of a variety of activities for children ranging in age from 5 (must have completed kindergarten) to age 17. There is a special pre-school program Monday through Friday for children who turned 4 or 5 before January 1, 2003. If you are interested in having your child participate, additional information concerning the various activities, the times for the various programs and registration forms check your Community Cubby in the Tower lobbies and outside the Spa.

GREEN PARTY CLUB MEETING

The Green Party Club invites all Galaxy folk who are interested in progressive political politics to come to our next meeting on Monday, July 7, 2003 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM in Room 3 of the Spa.


New     IT'S TIME FOR TENNIS!

Reservations are taken at the Spa. Courts must be reserved but not more than 24 hours in advance; one hour reservations for singles/two hours for doubles. There is a $10.00 fee for guests on weekends until 5:00 PM.

Steve Rosen's Sunday morning Hacker's League will be up and running at 9:00 AM on the New East Courts #1, #2 and #3.


SENIOR VAN SERVICE TO NORTH BERGEN LIBRARY

Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, the Guttenberg Senior Van will not be making a stop at the North Bergen Library.


GALAXY BOOK CLUB

The book for the July 16, 2003 meeting will be The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks.

The book for the August 20, 2003 meeting will be The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins.

The group meets at 8:00 PM in meeting room #3 in the Spa. Contact Florence Friedman at 201-854-1268 with any questions.


CARIBBEAN WEEK

The Galaxy Social and Cultural Committee will be sponsoring a Caribbean Week, August 18 to 23, ending in a Caribbean Night party on August 23rd. If you come from a Caribbean country, maybe you would like to share your knowledge of the culture and customs of this region through a talk, slide show, a cooking demonstration, a fashion, crafts, art or dance presentation. If you are interested in doing a presentation, or know someone who could be part of our Caribbean Week program, leave a note with your name and phone number for Pam Sanabria at the Tower II concierge desk.


TEMPORARY REPLACEMENT CARS

If you plan to bring in a rental car, replacement car or loaner car, you must read this!

Temporary replacement cars used for longer than 36 hours must be issued a temporary tag. The tags are available from the GTCA Accounting office and are valid for ten (10) days. Temporary replacement cars for less than 36 hours must obtain a temporary parking number from the Accounting Department.
