We are proud to announce the launch of The Front Desk.Net. This program is primarily for our concierges to use with regard to notification and packages, but it will also prove to be a valuable tool for the dissemination of official information to our residents. Please follow the instructions that you will receive under your door this weekend to set up your new account. The front desk will be a constantly changing and evolving program. As we start to use it, you will find more and more information on it. We are certain that you will find this new technology to be user friendly, fun and informative.

If you plan to renovate or alter your apartment in any way, you must have approval from Management. For approval, you will need to submit a completed Alteration Agreement. The Alteration Agreement sets forth rules and regulations that must be followed. These rules were carefully written in order to protect the physical plant and the residents of the Galaxy Towers Condominium Association. Copies of the Alteration Agreement can be found initially in the cubbies, and can also be obtained by contacting the Maintenance Department at 201-453-2436.

Continuing high winds and lots of clouds have slowed the blooming of the flowers. Pease be patient while our flowers continue to root and grow during the next week. The pots are expected to explode with color, blooms, and hanging vines, but not until we get some consistently good, sunny weather. We have been advised that with 5 straight days of sun, warmth and water, our plants will bloom and thrive.

The pigeon control program was started several months ago and so far it looks like we are gaining control. If you have a pigeon problem on your balcony, please contact the main office at 201 453-2400 so you can be put on the list for treatment. "The Bird Doctor" comes to the Galaxy every Friday afternoon. We will need to have your telephone number so that we can call in advance to ensure that you are home. If you will not be home, please provide a Permission to Enter slip along with your keys so that we can enter your apartment and treat your balcony.

There will be a Pet Fair on Thursday, June 26, 2003 at Bulls Ferry from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Free rabies shots will be administered from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM by Animal General of Edegewater. Bob Rogers, representing the Town of Guttenberg will be on hand to license your pets. Also on hand will be groomers, dog walkers, vets, and many other professionals dedicated to your pets. Check you cubbies for more information.

The Board has approved new rules for the size of automobiles permitted in the garage. So, before you purchase that new SUV this weekend, please contact the management office to find our new height and length restrictions for the garage. A formal notice will be distributed shortly.

A wine tasting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 8:00 PM in the Spa Lounge. The event is a seated tasting of six wines accompanied by Spanish cheeses. The cost is $10.00 per person and sign up is at the Spa desk. Galaxy residents and their guests must be at least 21 years of age.

The book for the June 18, 2003 meeting will be The Fortunate Pilgrim by Mario Puzo.

The book for the July 16, 2003 meeting will be The Sweet Hereafter by Russell Banks.

The movie for June 6, 2003 will be 2 Weeks Notice, starring Sandra Bullock.

A caucus of the Guttenberg Board of Education will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 6:00 PM in the cafetorium of the Anna L. Klein School, 301 69th Street, Guttenberg, immediately followed by a Regular Meeting at 6:30 PM. The tentative agenda: Communications, Committee Reports, Requisitions, Resolutions, Payment of Claims and miscellaneous other business. The foregoing is subject to change, formal action will be taken.

The tennis courts are open for the season and Reservations are being taken at the Spa. Remember, courts must be reserved in advance but not more than 24 hours in advance; one hour reservations for singles/two hours for doubles.

Steve Rosen's Sunday morning Hacker's League will be up and running at 9:00 AM on the New East Courts #1, #2 and #3.

The next meeting of the Creative Eye will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at 8:00 PM in meeting room #3 of the Spa Lounge. The theme of the next exhibit will be "Go With The Flow".
