NOTICES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE RESCHEDULED

In observance of the Memorial Day Holiday, there will be a town parade on Monday, May 26, 2003. We have been advised by the Guttenberg Police Department that the route from Ferry Road to 70th Street and Boulevard East will be closed. No parking or traffic will be allowed on Boulevard East from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM during the parade and ceremony.

New     BERM WORK CONTINUES!!

Work on the Berm has begun! The job includes the removal of all of the dirt and plants in the giant planters. After the dirt is removed, the waterproofing of the giant planters will begin. When it is finished, new dirt will be brought in, and a landscape design including a new stone wall in place of the concrete curb, as well as irrigation and electricity will be installed. At that time, we also expect to solve a problem with the mini park lights, as we will be placing them on a separate circuit. We expect that the work will take approximately 60 working days, or up to 3 months. Limited work will also be done on Saturdays in an effort to shorten the amount of time that that driveway area is partially obstructed.

New     NEW PROCEDURE FOR APARTMENT ALTERATIONS

If you plan to renovate or alter your apartment in any way, you must have approval from Management. For approval, you will need to submit a completed Alteration Agreement. The Alteration Agreement sets forth rules and regulations that must be followed. These rules were carefully written in order to protect the physical plant and the residents of the Galaxy Towers Condominium Association. Copies of the Alteration Agreement can be found initially in the cubbies, and can also be obtained by contacting the Maintenance Department at 201-453-2436.

FLOWERS

Continuing high winds and lots of clouds have slowed the blooming of the flowers. Pease be patient while our flowers continue to root and grow during the next week. The pots are expected to explode with color, blooms, and hanging vines, but not until we get some consistently good, sunny weather. We have been advised that with 5 straight days of sun, warmth and water, our plants will bloom and thrive.

PIGEON CONTROL

The pigeon control program was started several months ago and so far it looks like we are gaining control. If you have a pigeon problem on your balcony, please contact the main office at 201 453-2400 so you can be put on the list for treatment. "The Bird Doctor" comes to the Galaxy every Friday afternoon. We will need to have your telephone number so that we can call in advance to ensure that you are home. If you will not be home, please provide a Permission to Enter slip along with your keys so that we can enter your apartment and treat your balcony.
