NOTICES AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT URGENT

IF YOU OR ANYONE YOU KNOW IS ON ANY TYPE OF LIFE SUPPORT SYSTEM THAT REQUIRES ELECTRICITY, PLEASE NOTIFY YOUR CONCIERGE BY JANUARY 15, 2003. WE WILL BE CONDUCTING A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY GENERATOR ON WEDNESDAY JANUARY 22, 2003 BETWEEN 3:00 AM & 6:00 AM. ELECTRICITY WIL BE OFF IN ALL TOWERS DURING THIS TIME.

WE ARE ALSO COMPILING AN UPDATED LIST FOR PSE&G AND OUR FIRE OFFICIAL.

REMEMBER, YOUR ALARM CLOCKS MAY NOT WORK IN THE MORNING.

New NEW YEAR'S DAY POWER OUTAGE - TOWER II

According to PSE&G, a garbage truck hit the telephone poll behind our property, on River Road. This caused a small electrical fire on the telephone pole. The Fire Department responded, and put the fire out. PSE&G then had to wait for a truck with a "cherry picker" (a tall basket) to come to us from Bayonne in order to make the repairs. Our emergency lights did exactly what they are supposed to do. They are "evacuation lights" designed to go on for about an hour in case an evacuation is necessary. The batteries then drain out and are re-charged when the power comes back on. Our lights functioned exactly as they were designed to function. The only failure that we experienced during the blackout was a glitch in the transfer of power from our generator to an elevator. In a power outage, our generator powers one elevator in each tower. This generator had a minor malfunction with a phase relay which is being corrected.

All generators are being tested to ensure that they will work properly in an emergency. This testing will take place on January 22, 2003 in the middle of the night to minimize inconvenience. We will have an electrician, PSE&G and our staff on site at this time, as the test is conducted. Our Guttenberg Fire Official, Tony Casper has graciously volunteered to join our middle of the night test as well. See above for more details.

IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY CALL 911 FIRST!

For any type of life threatening emergency, call 911 first. Then, call your concierge for help, or to advise that you have called 911.

THE QUESTIONNAIRE

In the spirit of the freshness of the New Year, we are updating our files, and embarking on some new projects. During the next few days, you will be receiving a questionnaire about the occupancy of your apartment. This questionnaire is for management use only, and will remain the private property of the Galaxy. Please read the accompanying letter and fill out the questionnaire, in order to be properly listed in the directory. Also, see below for another reason it is imperative that we receive your completed questionnaire.

KEY FOBS

We are installing a new Key Fob system to replace our aging system.  It is no longer cost effective to keep our old system on life support.  In continuation of the topic above, "The Questionnaire", if you use a key fob it is necessary to fill out the form mentioned above so that you (and those that live with you) can receive new key fobs.

FRIDAY NIGHT MOVIE

The movie for January 10, 2003 will be Minority Report, starring Tom Cruise.

The movie for January 17, 20023 will be Sunshine State, starring Edie Falco and Angela Bassett. Movie selections are subject to change. All movies start at 8:15 PM unless otherwise indicated.

HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS

If you are interested in contracting for one year of high speed internet access at an approximate cost of $22.00 per month. The cost varies slightly form $19.00 to $24.00 per month depending on how many residents sign up. The rate that is quoted in the survey is not an "introductory rate" for six months, but rather will stay in effect for the length of the contract that we sign (from 1-3 years). We have not received many responses, which indicates that the issue is not worth pursuing. If you are interested in high speed internet access, please fill out the survey or leave your name with the concierge.

New NEW FEES FOR WATER SHUT DOWNS

Effective immediately, the charge for a water shut down is $250 per occurrence. Please schedule the water shut downs by contacting Elizabeth Petriello at 201 453-2436 in the Maintenance Department.

With this system, you will be able to order a repair from your office or home, read and send email messages to residents, contact your concierge via computer, and receive notifications of mail and package deliveries. Important Association documents will also be available for viewing and downloading as well. Right now, we are adding the final touches to the program and working out the last little kinks. There will be a big announcement in January, when the program goes on-line.

FIRE SAFETY SYSTEM UPDATE:
